The short of it
Rat King has no accounts, no adverts, no in-app purchases and no tracking. It never asks who you are — not your name, your email or your location (the name it asks for is your rat's). Your game is saved on your own device. The only thing that ever leaves your device is a bug report, and only if you write one and press Send.
Your saved games
The game saves your three nests, your settings (sound and music on or off) and the name you give your rat in your browser's own storage on your device. Nothing of this is sent anywhere. Clearing the app's or the site's data deletes it.
Bug reports — only when you send one
The BUG button opens a card where you can write what went wrong. If you press Send, the game sends the developer:
- what you wrote;
- a picture of the game screen at that moment;
- a few numbers about the game (which build, which night, how many tails, rats and food);
- your screen's size and your browser's name and version;
- the internet address the report came from, which is used only to stop one address sending a flood of reports.
Reports are kept on the server the game is served from and on the developer's own computer, and are read to fix the game. They are not sold, shared or used for advertising. If a report could not be sent it waits on your device and tries again later; you can delete it by clearing the app's or the site's data.
The website and the app
The game is served from playratking.com, on a server rented from IncogNET in Stockholm, and from ratking.cowllabs.com through Cloudflare. Like any network that carries a website, each of them handles your internet address to deliver the page. The Android app is the same website opened full screen in Chrome, so Chrome's own privacy terms apply to the browser itself.
Children
The game is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone unless they choose to send a bug report.
Asking or deleting
To ask about a report you sent, or to have it deleted, write to support@playratking.com, or send another report through the BUG button saying so.
